The internet edition of last week's La Republique contains an article looking into the upcoming Fed Cup tie between France and Italy. The article itself seems to suggest that Marion will be available for team selection.

'The captain Georges Goven will have the choice between Marion Bartoli (17th globally), Alize Cornet (19th), Amélie Mauresmo (24th), Virginia Razzano (60th), Pauline Parmentier (61st), Nathalie Dechy (77th), and Tatiana Golovin if she returns fit.'

That article isnt correct. The actual situation is that Goven may still insist on naming Marion in the team, even though she has made clear she will not play. He named Marion in February this year, simply as a stunt to make himself look good, and make Marion look unpatriotic.

Marion didnt join the team for the tie with China. Nor will she do so for the tie with Italy. Nothing has changed and she will not alter her position.
