In an article this morning, The French Tennis Federation's Technical director Patrice Dominguez has spoken to L'Equipe's Sophie Dorgan about Marion, both in relation to her Fed Cup position and her performance in 2008 as a top French player.
'Patrice Dominguez is still hoping to convince Marion Bartoli to join the French Fed Cup team, and did not "want to leave anyone on the edge of the road."'
On her season Dominguez say's, "Marion Bartoli remains in the top twenty despite a difficult season. She had to manage her growth from the previous year."
Asked if he still hopes to persuade Marion to join the French team, Dominguez say's, "We always have hope of convincing. That will not happen under any conditions. We have to agree. It must first be that she had really wanted to. If she really wants, too. One can argue. Moreover, there is at this time, the President must meet."
