According to Lighter, today's edition of L'Equipe is reporting that Marion will make herself available for the Fed Cup tie between France and Italy after all, and apparently without the company of her own coach, dad Walter. :-(

Last month Marion Bartoli Fan Blog reported that the new Fed Cup team manager Nicholas Escude and Marion's coach were unable to find common ground on the terms of Marion's availability for team selection.

However this impasse came just a matter of days after Escude's appointment to the job, under the full glare of the media. So to be fair to Escude and his people, and to be fair to the Bartoli's, the best understanding's are not always reached under such media pressure and hyperbole.

Perhaps in the weeks that have went by, there has been some quiet diplomacy and talking going on in the background, behind the scenes, away from the newspapers, tv cameras, and even nuisance bloggers

Well, look, i'm just happy to hear peace may be breaking out. The FFT may not be my best friends over this matter, but they where decent and kind enough to grace Marion Bartoli Fan Blog with an explanation. So, as the man says, change? yes we can.

NB. This story appears to be exclusive to trusted tennis oracle Alain Deflassieux of L'Equipe visavis FFT technical director Patrice Dominguez, and is not currently reproduced on any other internet source at time of posting. So dont shoot me if it isnt perfectly accurate.

UPDATE 19:25

A couple of lines from Eurosport France (18:00 hrs) are so far the first and only internet corroboration of this story.

'For her part, Marion Bartoli has not ruled out a return to Fed Cup, an event long ignored by the French who could not come with her coach father. "If it goes well and that I choose, why not go there."'
