Quarter Final
For the third year running Marion has reached the semi final in Eastbourne, where she will now meet compatriot Virginie Razzano for a place in the final.
Playing a Spaniard perhaps better known for her clay and hard court prowess than grass, Anabel Medina Garrigues is nevertheless still a top player currently ranked 20 in the world. For Marion to deliver a third successive straight sets win shows just how ferocious a player the Frenchy is, especially on England's green and pleasant lawns.
Driving a coach and horses through the opposition's game, our grassphilic Coriscan swept into a 5-0 lead on the lush brush, and just missed out on handing down a bagel.
In the 2nd set Marion went a break up for 2-2, but Medina Garrigues did well to immediately retrieve the break and show that nothing is ever quite a lost cause in tennis.
However the Spaniard could have been forgiven for thinking that Bartoli may well have been Bodicea today.. Marion broke again for 5-4, and quickly closed out the match to complete a good days work at the lovely Devonshire Park setting in Eastbourne.

Hi SuperMarion
Great defense of her points! The only player from last year in the finals or semis to do so! This will do her well to reaching the top 10 again!
Three in straight sets too, hopefully she won't tucker herself out too much for Wimbledon.
I saw this quote by Razzano about Marion that I thought was great:
I know everything about her, said Razzano. She is a special girl. I need to be careful about everything because she can do everything.
Do we know of a site streaming the semifinal? I'd love to see it.
If she reaches the final it's Wozniacki or Wozniak. Thoughts on preference since it's grass?
Exciting stuff! Thanks for the updates for us Canadians who can't get the coverage!
